
The Court of Appeal Wrocław, Poland, invited the SimpliVi project to host its final event at the recently opened new court building. To live up to the topic of the project, the conference was held as a hybrid conference. Up to 40 interested persons participated on site and up to 60 online participants joined the conference remotely.
The conference started with a welcome note by Ewa Barnaszewska as the vice president of the Court of Appeal Wrocław. Katarzyna Klimas from the Court of Appeal Wrocław moderated the conference and introduced the speakers and sessions. Project coordinator Mathias Maurer set the stage with an introduction into the SimpliVi project and the project results to be presented at the second day of the conference.
The morning session of the first day were then dedicated to legal aspects of videoconferencing from an international and a national perspective. The afternoon session then covered organisational and technical aspects, again from a national and an international perspective.
The second day was dedicated to the SimpliVi project results, after the welcome note by Artur Moneta, Director of the Court of Appeal in Wrocław. The project coordinators presented and excerpt of the SimpliVi Recommendations, which were presented to the public for the first time at this conference. The second and final session of day 2 took a deep-dive into e-CODEX and how it could contribute to simplifying judicial cross-border videoconferences. Katarzyna Klimas finally summed up the SimpliVi Conference.
